If you have a blog on Blogger, you must have noticed when changing the template that some widgets cannot be deleted through the Layout page. Today, we will explain to you, why there a widget's on Blogspot blogs without the delete button? Then we will explain: How to remove the widget correctly?
So, you may be asked yourself why there are these locked widgets?
Actually, When a web designer creates a blogger template, he sometimes has to lock some important tools and block it from users, like (The Main Menu, The Blog Posts, The Comment Widget, and others..)
Such tools may be deleted by the user through the "Layout page" (unintentionally) and damaging the template.
But some other widgets may not be needed and must be deleted from our Blog to be fast and cleaner, as:
- Navbar and Attribution widgets.
- locked Adsense widgets.
- HTML/JAVASCRIPT widget.
Now, let me show you how we can "remove" the locked widgets easily:
- First, Backup your Template: Go to "Theme" >> Backup Button.
- Then, from the same "Theme page" >> Open the "Edit HTML".
- Press CTRL+F to open the search box.
- Type/Or Select the locked widget which you want.
- Look at the code line, find this locked='true'.
- Simply, change the word "true" with "false" to unlock the widget.
- Click Save.
